Sep 5    Chamber Inspirational Luncheon featuring Gabe Adams
Gabe Adams is just your “average” 19 year old, who was born in Brazil with Hanhart Syndrome, a genetic disorder, leaving him with no arms or legs. Adopted by his Utah family, Gabe is an amazing example of rising to the challenge. He went to Dixie High School, in St. George, Utah, and served as a senior class officer. He graduated from Dixie High School in 2017. Gabe is now pursuing a career in motivational speaking and looks forward to starting college soon, where he will pursue interests in becoming a psychiatrist or interior design.
Despite his challenges, Gabe is extremely independent, participates in family and school daily activities, and lives an amazingly “normal” life. He even made the dance teams at both Davis and Desert Hills High Schools.
His story will inspire you to view life’s challenges differently and motivate you to “rise up” and pursue your dreams with courage.

Sep 29    The Champagne Cork Poetry Revolution

Sledgehammer poetry, lies, and fiasco come alive with award-winning Poets.

Poetry lovers, get ready for an experience! An all-star lineup of award-winning National Poetry Slam Team alumni—Erika Larsen, Ron Coulson, Darren M. Edwards, and Janae Godfrey—will take the stage to share personal poetry at its most provocative. Come and witness the power of words to connect us with our deepest emotions.

After eight years of sharing “Poetry Under the Stars,” the group is taking the performance indoors to a more intimate setting…and great sound. The event’s new moniker—Champagne Cork Poetry Revolution—reflects its relocation to the new Lorraine Boccardo Black Box Theatre at the Center for the Arts in Kayenta (right next door to the outdoor theater).

Kayenta Arts Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop and create an environment where diverse artistic endeavors can flourish. The Center for the Arts at Kayenta (CFAK) is the actual place where people in the greater southern Utah come to learn, express, appreciate and celebrate art in all forms.
