Dixie Forum: A Window to the World

Dixie State University’s weekly noontime “Dixie Forum: A Window on the World” forum continues its 2014 Spring Semester discussion series Tuesday, March 4, with a presentation entitled “The Billionaires Classroom” by Dana Telford, senior consultant for the Family Business Consulting Group.

Telford has 15 years of experience solving family business problems, and specializes in succession planning, family governance, board effectiveness, strategy, entrepreneurship and conflict management. He has advised hundreds of business families on six continents and in more than 18 different countries. Previous clients include members of the Forbes List of the world’s wealthiest, a royal family and founders of some of the world’s largest organizations.

Telford graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of Utah, and earned a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Harvard University. He co-authored Integrity Works: Strategies for Becoming a Trusted, Respected and Admired Leader and the national best-seller The Integrity Advantage: How Taking the High Road Creates a Competitive Advantage.

The Dixie Forum is a lecture series designed to introduce DSU students, faculty, and the St. George community to diverse ideas and personalities and to widen their world views. Forum lectures are free and open to the general public for participation. Dixie students can earn one college credit by signing up for HUM 1000, attending lectures regularly, carefully considering the ideas expressed, and writing about the presentations.

Following DSU’s Spring Break (March 10-14), the weekly Dixie Forum series will continue its 2014 Spring Semester schedule on Tuesday, March 18, featuring a presentation entitled “Research in Sugar in the Diet, Toxicity Assessment and Detecting Health Declines in Mice” by University of Utah Biology Professor Wayne Potts.
