May is national bike month, and to celebrate the City of St. George will be hosting several bike events. One of those events, the bi-annual “Bike with Pike” event is coming up on Monday, May 7, 2018 at the Confluence Trailhead by the Dixie Center at 6:00 pm.
“Bike with Pike” is family friendly bike ride with Mayor Pike, members of the St. George City Council, St. George Active Transportation Committee and Southern Utah Bicycle Alliance. The event features a free hotdog BBQ, music, bike rodeo and a ride with Mayor Pike along the Mayor's Loop section of the City’s trail system.
Recently, a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge was constructed over the Virgin River parallel to River Road to improve the comfort and safety of all trail users. Mayor Pike, together with members of the Southwest Utah Public Health Department and Southern Utah Bicycle Alliance will ceremoniously open this section of trail for public use at the event.
This is a great opportunity to bring the whole family and their bikes as we celebrate one of the many reasons why we love our great community!
